About GemCollective

GemCollective brings together the work of independent gem cutters. Each cutter sells on their own behalf, either as an individual or through their own business. The cutter named in a listing is the seller of that stone and is responsible for its description, fulfillment, and any applicable refund. GemCollective provides the website and helps with questions about an order. Contact us at hello@gemcollective.shop.

These terms apply to use of GemCollective and purchases made through the site. Read them together with our Privacy Policy and Shipping & Returns Policy. Any terms agreed for a custom commission must be provided before payment. Nothing in these policies limits rights you have under applicable consumer law.

Listings and gemstone information

Read the individual listing for the stone's material, weight, dimensions, cut, and treatment information. Natural and laboratory-grown material must be identified accurately. Known treatments, their permanence, and any special care needs must be disclosed where relevant. A missing treatment description does not establish that a stone is untreated; contact us if information is unclear before ordering.

Photographs and video help show a stone's appearance, but lighting and screen settings affect how color looks. Any laboratory report included with a purchase will be identified in the listing. A listing is not an independent laboratory report or an appraisal unless expressly described as one. Origin claims must reflect the evidence available to the seller.

Prices and orders

Prices are in US dollars unless stated otherwise. Review the items, shipping charge, and any applicable tax before submitting payment. Adding a stone to a cart does not complete a purchase. If a stone becomes unavailable or an error prevents us from fulfilling an order as placed, we will contact you and refund any payment for the unfulfilled order. We will not substitute a different stone or charge a higher price without your agreement.

Payments are processed by Stripe. The seller's name may appear on your payment statement. Contact us if you cannot identify a charge.

Custom commissions

Sending a commission request starts a conversation and does not commit you to a purchase. Before work begins, you and the cutter should agree in writing on the material, design, price, any deposit, estimated timeline, and cancellation or return terms. Any arrangements for customer-supplied rough, including cutting risks and responsibility for the material, must also be agreed before it is sent or worked on. A commission is not automatically nonrefundable just because it is custom work.

Accounts and use of the site

Provide accurate contact and delivery information and keep your account credentials private. Contact us if you suspect someone has accessed your account without permission. Do not interfere with the website, attempt to access another person's account, or submit unlawful or misleading information. We may restrict access where reasonably needed to address misuse or protect the site; doing so does not remove obligations relating to an existing order.

Photos, designs, and other content

The photographs, text, and other content on this site belong to their respective owners. Buying a stone does not transfer intellectual property rights in the listing or its photographs. Ask the owner before using their work beyond uses allowed by law.

Questions and changes

Contact hello@gemcollective.shop with questions or problems, including your order number if you have one. We will publish revisions here with an updated effective date. A later policy change will not retroactively change the agreed terms of an existing purchase without your agreement, except where required by law.
